Look at the photos to each side or below and see what 50 years and an argumentative wife of 25 years and my dysfunctional family will do to you, but I survived, see! Two girls: 35 and 32 and a son, 31. They say: "Life is like a bowl of cherries", but somehow I came across a lot of pits. I have had good times and bad times; been rich and been poor, but now just mediocre.
I have lived in England for 16 years, Daytona Beach FL for 6 years, and returned to LA in 1992. My working life was spent either as an entrepreneur or working for smaller companies in many different, unrelated fields, too many to list here, but it was always an interesting challenge, which provided me with many varied accomplishments.
Travel has been a wonderful respite from the monotony of work allowing me to visit 31 countries on four continents, and 39 of our beautiful and varied states with hopefully, more places to visit in the future.
Retired for the past 7 years, and now single, I enjoy life to its fullest participating in several sports, enjoying many cultural activities, and volunteering. Like the saying goes, I saved 'The Best for Last', and life couldn't be better. I am in the best physical shape since my US Marine Corps days, and luckily inherited excellent health from my super mother who died two years ago at 93.
Footnote: I want to thank all my classmates who took Nellie Mae Lombard's senior English class with me, and provided the most memorable rousing ovation at the end of my 45 minute lecture on my term paper subject, W Somerset Maugham. It was the highlight of 16 plus years of schooling.
PS I truly enjoyed talking with most of you who attended the 50th Reunion. Pity those who didn't attend. It was a wonderful evening spent with long ago friends with whom we shared so much during that formative period even though it is difficult remembering the details after 50+ years. I hope that we can meet again.
PPS Has anyone found Kilroy for I am still looking for him?
